Rosacea or rosacea is a chronic skin disorder. Initially, you will notice a mild reddening on your face. As time goes by, you may encounter inflammation and skin eruptions. If you do not treat it, it can become worse by creating red lines. This is because of the damaged veins. In severe cases, it can cause rhinophyma (excessive growth of tissues) and swelling of the nose.

To recover from rosacea, you need to treat it early with the right treatment. You can choose remedies such as antibiotics, alternative therapies, topical medicines, and dietary supplements.

Rosacea usually happens when you are in your thirties. It affects both men and women. Symptoms such as bard bumps, pimples, blemishes, and red rashes usually surface. Whatever treatment you take, it must

  1. address the abnormalities that are related to excessive skin growth,
  2. control the oil-producing glands to prevent excessive oil production,
  3. minimize inflammation, and
  4. curb the growth of bacterial infection and propionibacterium acnes.

When the body oil and the dead cells from the bacterial decomposition begin to accumulate, you will experience excessive skin growth. This will lead to acne and rosacea. As the bacteria are responsible for these skin problems, your dermatologist usually recommends antibiotics for the treatment of rosacea.

Some people use colloidal silver instead of antibiotics to treat rosacea. They take it for several weeks and the symptoms go away. Some stop taking it once the signs of rosacea disappear for the fear of unfavorable effects on long-term usage.

Before 1938, doctors use it to prevent epidemics. It contains anti-bacterial properties, which makes it possible to treat rosacea. It is natural, as it contains no chemicals, fillers, or additives. Therefore, many people believe that it is safe to use.

However, it may cause side effects, as you cannot determine the safety level of colloidal silver products that are available in the market. If you use too much, it can lead to argyria, an irreversible skin disorder.

For prevention of side effects, always follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more than the recommended dosage unless you receive directives from your doctor. Avoid applying around the eyes or lips, and sensitive areas of the neck.

People use colloidal silver for various applications. The nonspecific uses and the insufficiency of medical tests can create doubts about its effectiveness against rosacea. Therefore, always consult your dermatologist before using it to treat rosacea.
